Hello {FIRST_NAME|my friend}!

We have had a lot of adventures here at AGM between Catalog #100 and #101.  I won't go into all the details of our numerous cross-country quests here, but if we have some time together to catch up at one of the shows, I will certainly be glad to share some of the more humorous stories with you.  The end result is the important thing - we have acquired some nice collections and individual items to offer you here.

If you have been with us for any time at all you have more than likely heard me complaining about how much I would love to keep many of the items that come through here, but alas, there are bills to pay and new collections to purchase, so off they go to you.  That's not just marketing.. well, ok, yes so it is actually marketing, BUT it has the extra added benefit of also being true.  The teptation to simply keep everything is even stronger than it was last time.  Premium quality American Civil War firearms, a very special collection of WWII US Navy and Marine Corps aviation headgear, a collection of WWI Belgian enlisted uniforms and equipment... seriously, this job would be a lot easier if we just sold boring stuff.

Here are a few highlight photo collages for Catalog #101.  Click on any of them to enlarge.
(These may run afoul of pop-up blockers, depending on your internet browser.)

Catalog #101 features artifacts from the American Civil War.  Specifically noteworthy among them is a collection of particularly nice condition longarms. You may recognize a few of these WWII USN & USMC flight helmets - they were featured in Mick Prodger's excellent reference Vintage Flying Helmets.
SM_US_WWII_101 SM_Imperial_German
This catalog includes several A2 flight jackets, Navy M422 flight jackets, WWII uniforms and groups, and a 1st Division painted helmet from a June 6 D-Day Silver Star recipient. The Imperial German section features camouflage painted M16 helmets, a good selection of spike helmets, several field gray uniforms, and premium dunkelblau tunics.
SM_3R_101 SM_belgian
Though small, the 3rd Reich section of #101 contains some nice enlisted issue uniforms, including an excellent Panzer wrap. We are proud to offer a collection of WWI Belgian enlisted issue uniforms and equipment.

The Belgian items are particularly tough - the Adrian helmets and sidecaps are around, of course, but overcoats, uniforms, and field equipment.. not so much. These artifacts are found only in the most advanced WWI collections.  If you have pursued Belgian WWI items at all, then you are well-aware that it is apparently all made of unobtanium.

SM_84th_group 2 Don't let the absence of a WWI US collage in the photos above fool you into thinking that we are light on WWI US material this time.. there will be plenty to choose from, including this very complete AEF 84th Division officer's 'trunk group' which contains every stitch of clothing and all of the various personal comfort kit item that the gentleman had with him in France; including shoes, pajamas, checkers set, and his original wristwatch in the pasteboard carton.  This lot also includes a letter from the gentleman's wife to the collector who became custodian of the set in 1970, expressing the gratitude that she and her husband felt, knowing that the archive of his military service was in the hands of someone who would keep it together and preserve this bit of history.

The Other Nations section contains more than just the Belgian collection; there are several British campaign medal sets, and a nice lot of better-than-average WWII Japanese firearms which somehow escaped the great chrysanthemum marking eradication of 1945-46!  The selection includes Type 38 and Type 44 carbines, a paratrooper's break-down rifle, and the Type 99 sniper rifle illustrated here.

There are quite a few modern (post-1898) firearms on Catalog 101; Japanese, US WWI M1903 and M1917, a Belgian WWI rifle, US WWII M1 Garand, etc.  These are for sale to US customers only, and must ship in compliance with Federal law to an FFL dealer.  If you have unusually restrictive state or local laws on firearms where you live, please check those out before ordering.
